Landscape surrounds me; it is always there, and often invites me to pause and contemplate it. There are moments when I feel the need to capture what lies before me. I am not simply looking for a beautiful place, but for one in which light, space and time come together to create an atmosphere that moves me. Sometimes a single moment is enough to recognise a scene that deserves to be photographed; at other times, it is necessary to wait until something hidden reveals itself. The images I bring together here are the result of that waiting and of that way of looking.

Every landscape is, and will always be, a different encounter; each one invites me to turn the moment I have experienced into something lasting. When I leave a place, the landscape remains, but the emotion I felt travels with me, and for me, that is the most precious gift of my journeys. Places change with the light and with time; the emotion of having contemplated them remains within me. These images were born of patience, wonder and respect. If, while looking at them, they also manage to hold your attention for a moment, they will have fulfilled their purpose.
